One thing that challenges musicians the most is finding their own voice in the deluge of all the musical influences and information this crazy world offers. Ana finds hers in the lyrical intimacy of the human voice.
The award - winning Slovenian vocalist constantly combes her diverse musical background with current influences. Through her compositions and performances, you will hear the jazz tradition blended with characteristics of folk music, poetry and influences of modern musicians, such as Theo Bleckmann, Norma Winstone, Aaron Parks, Snowpoet, Tatiana Parra, etc.
Devoted. creative. expressive.
Ana’s musical journey began with playing classical piano, which brought her some grand prizes. Despite that, she soon realised that she had more freedom to express herself through her voice. This led her to start her bachelor's degree in jazz singing at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz. After graduating, she moved to Basel where she completed her Master's degree in Jazz Vocal Performance (2022) and her Master's degree in Vocal Jazz Pedagogy (2024) at the renowned Jazzcampus (Musikakademie Basel). During her studies, she had a chance to work with artists such as Theo Bleckmann, Guillermo Klein, Lisette Spinnler, Jorge Rossy, Gregor Hilbe, etc.
Ana is performing with many renowned musicians in Europe. She is most active with projects LILAMORS and Trokut, the latter was nominated for a Croatian award Porin as “best electronic album of the year.”
Ana is not only active as a performer but also as an educator and organiser. She co-created and produced the music education performance for children, “Čuk se je oženil v Ameriko” (SLO). Since August 2024 she has also been working at the Music School Department of the Basel Music Academy, where she teaches jazz/pop singing.
She is one of the artistic directors of an international workshop & festival, Jazzinty.
